Love For a Minute
Aural Pleasure
Having not seen the band live, I cannot compare the sound on this disc to what you might hear onstage. If
the energy level coming off these spins is any sign, however, it would be one helluva show.
Love For A Minute is reminiscent of the early 80's proto-punk sound (Black Flag, Bad Brains, etc.), with
a raw industrial sound mixed with subtle harmonies. The opening "Jam" does just that, with lead singer Tom
Harman's growling voice crawling over the fast-paced
aural minefield. Included is an acid-dropping take on "Ruby Don't Take Your Love to Town," and the
hammerhead pounding chords of "Destruction." Other strong numbers include the funked up "Anger" and the
slightly bittersweet "Why Ask Why."
